In 1997 two very talented Chefs had a dream to provide Perth & WA at large with a service the Eastern States had been enjoying for years.
In March 1998 the creation and commencement of Chefnet located in Bassendean was no longer a dream but a reality. Both Peter & his business partner; Thomas, worked at sites within Perth & country WA.
Our concept and goal has always been to maintain an up to date understanding of what is happening within the Hospitality Industry at all times. When possible all office personnel employed by Chefnet WA have Industry experience; from Chefs to Function Co-Ordinator to Wait Staff. This experience enhances our commitment to meeting the Clients requirements.
In 2000, due to the market demands leading up to the Sydney Olympics, we commenced employing other Hospitality staff to support our team of qualified Chefs. Due to the ongoing demand after the Olympics for other staff, this service was extended to WA in 2002.
In 2006, Thomas decided to move overseas allowing Allan; our devoted WA manager to become a partner. Since then we have continued with the same vision the company started with.
In 2013 we celebrate our 15th Birthday of being proudly WA's own Hospitality Recruitment Agency and look forward to a long future. Both Peter & Allan hold true to the original dream. Both still work as casual staff for various clients from time to time.
In late 2015, Peter decided to sell the whole business to Allan to pursue other business opportunities.
Started his apprenticeship at the Peppercorn French restaurant in Sydney and was classically trained in French cuisine. He then moved to Da Pierros in Sydney’s west and learnt the art of traditional Italian cooking.
Moving to tropical North Queensland and became Sous Chef at Cairns most exclusive seafood restaurant Verandahs, serving mainly to the Japanese tourist market. 1 year later he moved within the company to their Italian restaurant Verdies, and spent over a year as head chef there.
The travel bug struck again and he moved to Melbourne where he was head Chef at the Barkly’s Hotel for 2 years Heading to Perth in 1996; fabulous beaches and life style still holding the same attraction today as it did then. Watching Perth grow into a thriving metropolis recognised the World over. Allan found employment in a variety of establishments including The Esplanade Hotel Fremantle & The Westshore Groups establishments.
In 1998 whilst marketing, Peter & Thomas meet & recruited a motivated Chef looking for a challenge; Allan Keys. Allan started with Chefnet as a free-lance self-employed Chef. In 1999 when the opportunity came available to be part of the start-up team with Thomas in Sydney he jumped at the chance. For the next 2 years Allan handled the Bookings. Longing for where he truly felt "home". Allan requested transfer back to Perth and stepped into the role of Manager of WA operations. Since 2002, Allan has been responsible for the day to day running of Chefnet WA.
Allan owned a Restaurant located in Fremantle for several years. He has first-hand knowledge of the difficulties associated with operating a Restaurant in the forever changing world of the Hospitality Industry.
Realising how important an understanding of what businesses require from a recruitment agency lead Allan to return to bookings in 2011, ensuring that the person you are speaking to when you want staff has your best interest first and foremost. This is not a job, this is our business. Our Chefnet WA
Chefnet WA is locally owned and operated by one of our very first "Professional Chefs"; Allan Keys. Allan has been the hands on Manger in the Perth office for over a decade.
